Do's and Don'ts About Conversation

You are doing injustice to the conversation If a friend tells you something is wrong, you immediately tend to give advice or criticism. If a friend tells you about something wonderful that has happened, you usually chip in with something similar that you have experienced. If you find yourself already formulating your next sentence in your mind while someone is speaking to you 3 Do's Engage people while you speak. Ask questions like, "What do you think?" or "Do you agree?" Try not to speak continuously for long periods. People tend to have short attention spans. When you do not listen to what others are saying and only care to listen to your own voice, this is an indication that you really do not care for other people's opinions.

Live now ( Live every moment )

"How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives."    -- Annie Dillard       We lose the power of the moment because we're so rarely in it. We're reliving the past or speculating about the future. We continue to believe that tomorrow's the day when I'll be more capable, more wealthy, more fit and more loving. Meanwhile, I'm just putting in time, dreaming of better things but not making any concrete move to realize them.       When you find yourself thinking of the future or the past, bring your awareness into the present moment. Really experience how you feel and what's happening around you, without judgment. If we can treasure each moment, our lives will be rich, no matter what we have accomplished.       "Lost, yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered for the...

An old story, but good

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation. "Dear Son, I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren't in prison. Love, Dad " Shortly, the old man received this telegram: "For Heaven's sake, Dad, don't dig up the garden!! That's where I buried the GUNS!" A dozen FBI agents and local police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns. Confused, the old man wrote another note to hi...

Engineer Vs Manager

A man flying in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. Reducing altitude, he spotted a man on the ground and descended to shouting range. "Excuse me," he shouted. "Can you help me? I promised my friend I would meet him a half hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man below responded: "Yes. You are in a hot air balloon, hovering approximately 30 feet above this field. You are between 40 and 42 degrees North Latitude, and between 58 and 60 degrees West Longitude." "You must be an engineer," responded the balloonist. "I am," the man replied. "How did you know?" "Well," said the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost." Whereupon the man on the ground responded, "You must be a manager." "That I am" replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?" "Well,...

Walk-through airport lie detector

A new walk-through airport lie detector made in Israel may prove to be the toughest challenge yet for potential hijackers or drugs smugglers. Tested in Russia, the two-stage GK-1 voice analyser requires that passengers don headphones at a console and answer "yes" or "no" into a microphone to questions about whether they are planning something illicit. The software will almost always pick up uncontrollable tremors in the voice that give away liars or those with something to hide, say its designers at Israeli firm Nemesysco. Read The Complete Story

Women Are Clever

A woman was out golfing one day when she hit the ball into the woods. She went into the woods to look for it and found a frog in a trap. The frog told her, "If you release me from this trap, I will grant you three wishes." The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, "Thank you, but I failed to mention that there was a condition to your wishes. Whatever you wish for, your husband will get it ten times!" The woman said, "That's okay." For her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world. The frog warned her, "You do realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women will flock to". The woman replied, "That's okay, because I will be the most beautiful woman and he will have eyes only for me." So, KAZAM-she's the most beautiful Woman in the world! Google Searches Used in Murder Trial

It seems that the content of Google searches were used to help establish intent in a murder trial. Will police in the future simply serve a subpoena to Google to find out what you've been thinking about? While this use of that information makes sense, at what point does your privacy give way to public concerns? Should police be able to search through your search history for "questionable" searches before you've been arrested for a crime, and what effect would this have on the health of society?

MailNation offers One Tera Byte Email Storage

I just got the message that Mail Nation is providing new Mail accounts with 1 Tera Byte storage. They are offering more than one domain to create your account ( Eg. mailnation.org, mailnation.net). The free service includes, Webmail with 1TeraByte ( 1000 GB ) storage and Mail forwarding feature. You have to pay 19$ if you want POP and SMTP access to your mail box. If you create your account and login, you will find the message "Please note that the use of YahooGroups is strictly prohibited. You won't find any ads even in the free service. If you go for fee mail account , then you need to login atleast one for every 60 days to retain your account. I think mailnation has used good strategy to penetrate into E-mail bussiness, but they are offering the free account to lure you towards the...

Microsoft moving to Live (Online sofware services)

Microsoft plans to launch Internet-based complements to its core products(Windows and Office), that create opportunities for the company to sell online subscriptions and advertising. Windows Live is a set of Internet-based personal services, such as e-mail, blogging and instant messaging. Office Live will come in both ad-based and subscription versions that augment MS' Office suite. The programs won't replace the paid software but instead seem aimed at capturing its online share. Windows Live at Live.com .
