Business is business!

One day at a school in Rocky Mount, North Carolina of USA, a teacher
said to the class of 5-year-olds, " Children, I'll give $20 to the one
who can tell me who was the most famous man who ever lived on our
planet earth."

An Irish boy put his hand up and said, "It was St. Patrick."
The teacher said, "Sorry Alan, that's not correct."

Then a Scottish boy put his hand up and said, "It was St. Andrew."
The teacher replied, "I'm sorry, Hamish, that's not right either.

Finally, a Gujarati boy raised his hand and said, "It was Jesus Christ."
The teacher said, "That's absolutely right. Avi, come up here. Take your $20."

As the teacher was giving Avi his money, she said, "You know Avi, you
are a Gujarati and I am very surprised you said Jesus Christ."
Avi replied, "Yes, in my heart I knew it was Lord Krishna, but
business is business!"

Procrastination train of thought: People procrastinate or avoid aversive tasks to improve their short-term mood at the cost of long-term goals. Procrastination is not a time management problem. It is an emotion regulation problem - we delay activities which might make us feel not-so-good. Procrastination is not laziness. Humans procrastinate because of poor emotional regulation about the outcome of tasks. In short, we often procrastinate because of perceived anxiety, stress, and poor emotional regulation about the completion of a task. Perceived anxieties make us feel ‘not so good.’ The aversion activity is a mechanism to avoid or delay the anxiety and repair the short-term negative mood. Habits like procrastination are a reaction ...
